Abstract
Case-finding and treatment has been the strategy for TB eradication and prevention in the United States. The BCG vaccine sage is unresolved. Currently we would consider its use only in skin-test negative susceptibles entering an environment of high risk for exposure. Upon this centennial of Koch's discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis much has been accomplished by scientists, physicians and lay workers, but more than 10 million people each year would welcome contined enthusiastic efforts.
