Abstract

Objectives: To describe a procedure for closure of dural carotid-cavernous sinus fistulas using a superior ophthalmic vein (SOV) approach. Methods: We have used the SOV approach on more than 30 patients with dural arteriovenous fistulas involving the cavernous sinus. Results: We have a 100% success rate with no major complications using this technique. ConclusionS: The SOV approach to dural arteriovenous fistulas involving the cavernous sinus is an effective and safe technique.
