Thoracic venous anatomy multidetector row CT evaluation

Abstract

Two-dimentional CT angiography provides much information of the systematic and pulmonary thoraic veins. The combination of MDCT and volume-rendering techniques postprocessing provides higher-quality data sets and a method fully to harness the potential for image display and interpretation. Although this may not radically alter sensitivity for detection of systematic or pulmonary venous pathology it does provide a more comprehensive and sophisticated evaluatuion through volume acquisition and interpretation.
