EMBOLISATION THERAPEUTIQUE D'UNE FISTULE CAROTIDE EXTERNE-SINUS CAVERNEUX CHEZ LE NOURRISSON. UNE OBSERVATION

Translated title of the contribution: Therapeutic embolization of external carotid cavernous fistula in infancy. A case report

Abstract

A seven-week-old infant presented with a pulsating eye. Angiography demonstrated an external carotid artery cavernous sinus fistula. Development of increased intraocular pressure prompted therapeutic embolization using particulate Gelfoam, with immediate relief of signs and symptoms. Absorbable embolic material may be used for permanent treatment of low-flow or low-pressure abnormalities.
