Abstract
A seven-week-old infant presented with a pulsating eye. Angiography demonstrated an external carotid artery cavernous sinus fistula. Development of increased intraocular pressure prompted therapeutic embolization using particulate Gelfoam, with immediate relief of signs and symptoms. Absorbable embolic material may be used for permanent treatment of low-flow or low-pressure abnormalities.
