Abstract

The classification of salivary gland tumors is important but difficult. Each tumor type behaves in its own predictable fashion, but distinguishing one type from another is no trivial task given the staggering diversity of salivary gland tumors. But one need not despair. A fundamental appreciation for certain key morphologic patterns and cellular features permits accurate classification of the more commonly encountered epithelial salivary gland tumors.
