Abstract

Progesterone-4-C14 was incubated with minces of testes from Guinea pigs of different ages. Progesterone-C14 disappearance and 17α-hydroxyprogesterone-C14 appearance did not change consistently with age. However, more androstenedione-C14 and less testosterone-C14 appeared in tissue from younger animals. It is concluded that androstenedione is reduced less readily in younger animals.
