Scrutiny of this issue’s masthead (p 1250) reveals a listing of the Archives’ reconstituted Editorial Board. Nine individuals have had previous experience on the Board. Eleven are new to the Archives’ Board, but not to its purposes or methods. All are distinguished, highly skilled clinicians and scientists whose names and contributions are familiar to the majority of our readers. Review of their curricula vitae reveals a remarkable array of accomplishments. Their average number of professional publications, for example, is 129. They are responsible for a total of 58 books and 2,527 chapters and original articles. Many of the publications have stood the test of time so well that they are now widely recognized as standard teaching documents the world over. In addition, several of these publications have described original and innovative clinical observations or techniques of such importance that they are now utilized in the daily practice of most ophthalmologists.
