Abstract

A mannolipid synthesized by a membrane-rich fraction from rat liver in the presence of 15-14C-retinol and GDP-mannose-14C contained a polar metabolite of 14C-retinol, as well as 14C-mannose. Retinol stimulated the in vitro incorporation of 14C-mannose from GDP-mannose-14C into the mannolipid and glycoproteins.
