N2 - A number of amide and ester derivatives of tropic acid were chromatographed by using a commercially available covalently bonded HPLC chiral stationary phase, (R)-N-(3>5-dinitrobenzoyl)-phenylglycine. The amide derivatives, including pharmacologically important tropicamide, were resolved on this column, but the ester derivatives, including atropine, were not.
