Abstract

Build a bridge: Oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) containing diphosphodiester bridges were synthesized by a solid-phase synthesis strategy. Modified ODNs formed stable duplexes with complementary modified and unmodified nucleic acid sequences. The modified oligomers were resistant to degradation by DNase I and 3′-exonuclease I under conditions in which unmodified ODNs were degraded. B = T, A, G, or C. (Chemical Equation Presented).
