Abstract

Sutezolid belongs to the oxazolidinone class of antimicrobial agents that acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Sutezolid’s structure is similar to that of linezolid, but is unique in that the ring structure includes a sulfur atom and not an oxygen atom (Figure 140.1). The chemical formula of sutezolid is C16H20FN3O3S and its molecular weight is 353.412.
