Abstract
As physicians who have in the recent past worked for many years in Dacca, East Pakistan (East Bengal), we are extremely concerned over recent events in that country. The attack of the West Pakistan military against the civilian population has caused immediate loss of life estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands. Doctors, lawyers and other members of the Bengali educated class have been especially singled out and shot. Medical care in the country has been totally disrupted. Civilian hospitals such as those at Ghandragona and Jessore have been badly damaged by shelling and bombing. Many.
