Abstract

This paper is concerned with certain situational factors which appear to influence therapy behavior and outcome of psychoneurotic patients seen in short‐term psychiatric clinic treatment. These factors are the patients' expectancies, including their clarity and the extent to which they are congruent with those of the therapists, their suitability for psychotherapy as perceived by independent raters and certain aspects of the therapists' behavior. 1965 American Orthopsychiatric Association
