Abstract

Serotonin has been shown to be released during anaphylaxis in the rabbit. The possibility that this amine might be an etiological factor in the formation of the Arthus phenomenon was considered. Because the reaction develops readily in rabbits depleted of serotonin by reserpine, it appears doubtful that this amine is of importance in the production of the lesion.
