Risk management issues in glaucoma: Diagnosis and treatment

Abstract

This article is based on the analysis of 194 claims in cases with a diagnosis of glaucoma. Half of these resulted in indemnity payments, and these payments, were nearly 20% higher than the average paid for ophthalmology claims. Risk management guidelines are given.
