Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

The phagocytic activity of the reticuloendothelial system (RES) was determined by measuring the clearance rate of intravenously administered radioiodinated, microaggregated human serum albumin (AA) in a group of patients with various systemic mycotic infections. Enhanced RES phagocytosis was demonstrated in each patient with active infection regardless of the extent of dissemination or the type of infecting organism. Return to normal of the clearance rate was observed following amphotericin B therapy.
