Representation of sino-atrial node dynamics by circle maps

We characterise a model of the sinoatrial node, the pacemaker of the heart, by its response to brief current pulses by a family of phase transition curves. These circle maps are used to describe the effects of acetylcholine on the sensitivity of the pacemaker to perturbations.
