Abstract
Pulmonary vascular physiology is discussed in the context of and with special emphasis on pulmonary vascular smooth muscle regulation. Vasoregulatory mechanisms are discussed in terms of how vascular smooth muscle is modulated. Historical, clinical, heterogeneity, and barrier function features of the pulmonary circulation are also discussed.
