Abstract
The tremendous results achieved with the combination of drugs and the poor results achieved before chemotherapy became available is the reason why chemotherapy in tuberculosis is often considered as the model of scientific chemotherapy for infectious diseases. The objective of this report is to review the principles on which the chemotherapy of tuberculosis is based. It is not to examine how these principles can be or should be applied in field conditions.
