Postoperative voiding dysfunction in women

Voiding dysfunction is a common complication after urogynecologic procedures. Rates in the literature are reported anywhere from 5% to 20%. The presentation of postoperative voiding dysfunction is varied, however, the etiology is usually obstruction. Appropriate management depends on proper evaluation and diagnosis.
