In 2004, funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and supported by the American International Health Alliance, Dartmouth conducted a pilot primary care project introducing antenatal care (ANC) in family medicine. The GDA project involved matching funds from corporate and individual donors, including the major Alliance partner AmeriCares, a large international humanitarian relief organization. The Kosovo Ministry of Health and numerous volunteer physicians and nurses from Kosovo and the US donated their time.",
