Abstract

With more widespread use of effective chemotherapy, more elderly patients are candidates for treatment with cytotoxic drugs. This article reviews and discusses the relevant age-related factors that may alter drug disposition and its relationship to pharmocokinetics effects and to pharmacodynamic effects in the elderly.
