Abstract
The various pathologic pictures which make up the end-stage kidney are described. Certain patterns of involvement persist, even in patients with long continued chronic renal failure, that may permit one to make a diagnosis. In some cases, however, it may not be possible to arrive at an accurate diagnosis; this is particularly true of the kidneys of patients who have been maintained on chronic dialysis after complete renal failure.
