Abstract

In this section, we review the pathophysiology of PPH, critical monitoring required for patients undergoing surgery, and the effects that various anesthetic agents may have on the hemodynamics, as well as specialized situations that the clinician may be faced with such as the parturient with PPH. It is hoped that clinicians will gain more insights into the challenges that await them as they approach this group of patients with severely compromised cardiovascular systems.
