Optical biopsy needle for optical coherence tomography

Abstract

A new delivery approach for performing OCT imaging using a small diameter fiber-optic needle is presented. In principle, this scheme can be coupled to conventional fine needle aspiration or core biopsy to guide excisional biopsy and therefore reduce sampling errors.
