Abstract

This article will provide a summary of the epidemiology of obesity worldwide. In particular, methods to define and measure obesity will be briefly discussed. An overview of the burden of obesity and its complications will be briefly mentioned. A comparison of the causes of obesity among individuals and of the epidemic of obesity is included.
