Abstract

There have been numerous recent developments in the field of infectious diseases which are relevant to critical care medicine. These include a number of new syndromes, pathogens, and chemotherapeutic modalities. The purpose of this review is to summarize the most significant developments during the past 5 yr which are applicable to the practice of intensivists.
