Abstract

The recent advent of minicomputers represents a new opportunity to bring cost effective computer technology to bear on hospital information systems requirements. Of particular significance is the potential to establish a network of minicomputers to meet the diverse needs of multiple hospital functions. This paper examines the basic technical aspects of this approach.
