Abstract

This is the first report of an infant born with neonatal hyperthyroidism who has had an unexplained paradoxical enlargement of the thyroid during the first 3 weeks of life and the first report of an infant born with thyrotoxicosis whose older sibling was probably also hyperthyroid, at birth. The possible mechanisms of neonatal hyperthyroidism including the role of LATS are discussed.
