Abstract
Necrotizing enterocolitis is a life-threatening condition primarily seen in low-birthweight premature infants. The condition has a complex clinical and pathologic presentation and multifactoral etiology. Early recognition and prompt medical therapy has decreased morbidity and mortality. Surgical intervention is presented for specific indications with similar results.
