Abstract

The Expert Panel Report covers a comprehensive set of issues that reflects the complexity of asthma. It emphasizes throughout that appropriate therapy must be based on a clinician-client partnership in care as well as the role of the nurse in management and client and family education. Asthma is a dynamic disorder. Therefore, the report will be revised as scientific advances warrant. The current report reflects the NAEP's best current understanding of the disease.
