Abstract

Improved imaging techniques continue to play an important role in the medical and surgical treatment of inflammatory and neoplastic disease. Coronal computed tomography is the imaging modality of choice in patients with inflammatory sinus disease refractory to medical treatment who are candidates for functional endoscopic sinus surgery. This review addresses new developments in the imaging evaluation of both benign and malignant nasal and paranasal sinus disease and discusses articles that have contributed to the continued improvement in nasal and paranasal sinus imaging during the past year.
