Modification of the Belsey Mark IV procedure

Abstract

The Belsey Mark IV hiatal herniorrhaphy is a procedure which requires precise placement and tying of esophageal sutures. We describe a modification of suture technique which results in a more accurate and secure anchoring of the repair while avoiding excessive tension on the esophagus.
