Abstract

In bilateral cleft palate patients, abnormal obliquity and narrowness of orbits are noted on radiographs, computed tomographic scans, and magnetic resonance imaging investigations. Deformity of bony structures (increase in transverse length) is sometimes associated with malposition of eyelids, which results in a typical antimongoloid facies. Five patients were treated, and we report our series to illustrate the problem and its correction using the 'mask-lift' procedure, initially described by Tessier and Krastinova.
