Abstract

Understanding terminology is important in order for scientists to be able to communicate with each another. This Stimuli article thus reviews the terms accuracy and precision, along with the related terms, trueness and uncertainty. The goals are to be clear where there is agreement between the usage in USP's compendia and in the international metrological community and where there is not and to make recommendations regarding use of these terms in USP and its compendia.
