Abstract

Some features of the surgical anatomy of choanal atresia are presented and discussed. The transpalatal approach for its correction have been review with special attention directed to the narrowed nostril by bony overgrowth. The recent results of the surgical correction of choanal atresia at the Johns Hopkins Hospital on the otorhinolaryngology service have been reported. These results indicate the method of choice for correction of choanal atresia is via the transpalatal exposure.
