Abstract

Advanced experimental murine tuberculosis was submitted to 'two-stage' chemotherapy, with intermittent regimes during the second stage. The first stage, common to all regimes, consisted of daily isoniazid and streptomycin during three months. The second stage consisted of isoniazid and streptomycin or isoniazid alone, given either twice or once a week during six months. Among the four intermittent regimes studied, isoniazid plus streptomycin twice a week gave satisfactory results.
