Abstract

Recent studies (in vitro) have demonstrated that stimulatory effect of GH-RH on somatostatin release from hypothalamic cells in culture is probably mediated by beta-endorphin. Conflicting results are reported on the influence of Naloxone on GH secretion in humans. Our data seems to support the view that opioid receptor blockade is not able to modify GH secretion during GH-RH infusion in normal males.
