Abstract

Osteonecrosis of the lunate or Kienböck’s disease is an entity that has been recognized for over a century. It was fi rst described by the Austrian radiologist, Robert Kienböck, and is characterized by progressive pain and dysfunction of the wrist typically without any history of acute trauma. In this chapter, we will discuss the known pathophysiology, clinical evaluation, imaging, and treatments available.
