Abstract

In this chapter, practical aspects of integrating therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) in a hospital system are discussed with special emphasis on how frequently drug monitoring should be ordered, turnaround time, who should interpret results (pharmacist vs laboratory professionals), and overall cost savings to the hospital due to TDM.
