Increased Tc-99m MDP Accumulation in Soft Tissue Caused by Bicycle Riding

Abstract

Tc-99m MDP bone scintigraphy has long been used to evaluate bone pathology. However, a variety of etiologies can result in increased Tc-99m MDP accumulation in the nonosseous tissues. We present a case of a 61-year-old man with a history of daily prolonged bicycle use who had increased MDP uptake in the soft tissues of the gluteal region, corresponding to the contour of the saddle of the bicycle.
