Abstract

Sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBDs) have a variety of comorbidities ranging from medical, psychiatric, and neurological disorders, as well as other sleep disorders. The unique symptomatology of co-occurring disorders may alter the medical management and treatment of SRBDs. Traditional treatment of SRBDs such as obstructive sleep apnea, including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), may be more or less effective if a comorbid disorder is present.
