Abstract
It is important to understand the effects of immunotherapy on those factors that underlie allergic diatheses, such as specific humoral antibody changes and cellular interactions, that influence the body's response to an allergic stimulus. This article discusses a variety of immunologic changes, nonspecific changes, cellular events, histamine-releasing factors, and inflammatory mediator changes associated with immunotherapy.
