Abstract

Idiopathic macular telangiectasia (IMT; also known as idiopathic parafoveal telangiectasis) is a descriptive term for different disease entities presenting with telangiectatic alterations of the juxtafoveolar capillary network with a predominant location temporal to the fovea [1-3, 5]. IMT is distinct from similar vascular alterations that may develop secondary to retinal vein occlusion, vasculitis, diabetes, carotid occlusive disease, or radiation therapy.
