Identification of L-cystine crystals in bone marrow by x-ray diffraction

Abstract

X-ray diffraction procedures have been used to identify small quantities of cystine crystals in the bone marrow of 3 patients with the clinical diagnosis of cystinosis. The technique described may be used to identify other pathological deposits where morphological description and chemical analysis are unsatisfactory.
