Abstract
High pressure liquid chromatography has been used to effect the separation of trans-[RhCl(CO)(PPh3)2], trans-[Ir-Cl(CO)(PPh3)2], [IrCl(O2)(CO)(PPh3)2], and PPh3. The separations were conducted on silica columns utilizing mixtures of hexane and tetrahydrofuran as the mobile phases. The reaction of trans-[IrCl(CO)(PPh3)2] with oxygen to form an oxygen adduct, and the photolysis of mer- and fac-[IrH3(PPh3)3] were also followed.
