High mass fragmentation. Matrix effects in plasma desorption mass spectrometry

Abstract

Glutathione and nitrocellulose matrices are shown to reduce internal energies of protonated insulin molecules in plasma desorption mass spectrometry. Observations are also reported on relative differences in kinetic and internal energies of MNa+ ions compared with MH+ ions.
