Abstract

After reading this article, the reader will be able to: Evaluate the underlying cause, potential symptoms, and possible detrimental effects of acute mountain sickness (AMS) and high-altitude sleep disturbance. Analyze the challenges and physiological responses associated with high-altitude recreation. Compare the relationship between increased body fat, AMS, and high-altitude sleep disturbance.
