Abstract
The process and methodology of a six session group therapy format for irritable bowel patients is described. The group experience imparted both educational and emotional support. Concurrent administration of behavioral techniques allowed mastery of identified psychological stressors. Evaluation utilizing the SCL-90 revealed resolution of symptomatic distress levels at completion of therapy and six month follow up.
