Abstract
The study of human brain function using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has exploded in the past decade. A standard fMRI study results in enormous amounts of data. In addition, the signal of interest is relatively weak and the data exhibit a complicated temporal and spatial noise structure. In this article, we provide an overview of the analysis of fMRI data, from the initial data acquisition to its use in locating brain activity, making inference about brain connectivity and predictions about psychological or disease states.
